Saturday, August 6th

Today was a fun day! Surprisingly, we were awoken again at 4am. Haha! We did the same ol' routine of breakfast and playing, but this morning the kids were exhausted. They chose to not show it until about 8am though. Dayton ended up putting himself to bed about 7:30 am. He fell fast asleep and we all followed suit quickly. It was a nice morning nap and we were all up again around 10am. We got up and ready for the day. We wanted to get a few things from the store. We also knew we needed a booster chair for the table for Preston. He has way too much freedom at the table and eating with him isn't fun. The problem though is that these items aren't always easy to find and are expensive. We called Sargis and he was here to take us by 1pm. He had another plan for us and wanted to take us to the the town of Garni (Old Temple) before the shopping though. The Old Temple of Garni has been around since the 1st century. The temple was on a butte with a canyon valley below. It sits at the foot of Geghama Mountain on the bank of the Azat River. It was very beautiful scenery. Garni is on of the oldest settlements in Armenia. The history of the temple was that it was used by the Royal Kings and later turned into a church. (When I figure out how to upload my pictures, I will post them as well.) We then made a quick trip to the Chicco store in town to look for a booster chair for Preston. We quickly learned that imported items are VERY expensive. The seat we looked at online was about $30. At this Chicco store it was more like $60!! You live and learn you figure out how to pack them in your 12 check in bags. :) We know we won't be shopping there for toys. Which speaking of toys, they have been interesting to find. There are quite a few places to buy toys, but anything that says "Fischer Price" Legos, or Tonka or anything of that nature is double at least maybe triple the cost. So we are just waiting until we find a good deal and we can then get the boys a few more things to play with. We were able to then come home and check out the Golf Club near us. It is any easy walking distance to us. The prices seem fairly reasonable so we are looking into a membership. There is also a restaurant and swimming pool close as well. We didn't make it over there because the neighbor boy was headed over to play, but know that it will be a place we visit soon. We then had a light dinner and tried our best to keep our eyes open. We made it to 8:30 and we were all out! It's funny how much the time change messes you up. Love and miss you all!
